How we count panels
Each bay is one panel plus one post. We divide each side by that bay width and round up, so the last panel may need cutting. The planner tells you exactly how wide that part panel should be.
How we size the posts
A post needs about a third of its above-ground height buried, and never less than 600mm. We add the panel, gravel board and any trellis, then pick the shortest standard post that is long enough.
Gates and corners
Every gate adds a post and needs the heavier 100mm size. Where two sides meet at a corner, one post serves both, so you save a post at every corner.
